The City of Wells offers a variety of convenient payment options for our residents. Simply choose the option that best suits your needs.
Please pay bills at Wells City Hall during regular business hours. Mailed payments will be posted by the United States Postal Service, not the date written on the check. When mailing payments from the Wells Post Office please use the inside top mail slot marked local mail. The outside blue box will be sent out of town to be processed and delay payments from being received
All rules and regulations are set by the city council. Discussion of these rules & regulations can be done with the council at the regular meetings held on the 2nd Monday of every month promptly at 7:00 p.m.
(Neither the city employees or the mayor can make changes to the rules and regulations).
Payment By Mail
If paying by check or money order through the mail, please send all payments with your payment coupon. To avoid late fees, please mail your payment at least five-seven business days before the due date specified on your bill. Make all payment payable to the City of Wells.
Payment Drop-off Location
You may pay your bill in person at our office address or utilize the after-hours drop box located on the outside of the building.
Payment types accepted: Cash, Credit/Debit Card, Personal Check, Cashiers Check and Money Order.
- Personal checks (No two-party checks) $30.00 return check fee applied to all returned checks. Services will be disconnected after 10-day limit to pick up a return check.
- Credit Card payments ($2.00 fee applied to the bill) Stopped credit card payments will be treated as a returned check.
Loose Change Limits:
- Loose change over $5.00 will not be accepted.
- All change must be rolled into a bank approved money roller.
- Only the exact amount of the roll will go towards the bill.
- Each money roller must have the customer's name and account number legibly written on it.
Payment Through Financial Institution Online Bill Pay
Many financial institutions such as major banks offer their customers the ability to pay their bills via an online bill payment service (through your bank's website). Normally, these services debit the customer's checking or savings account to pay the bill. Depending on the financial institution, they may or may not charge a fee for the service. Payments may take up to seven business days to post to the customer's account. Please consult with your bank for more information.
Payment Made Online
By clicking the Red Pay Your Bill Now button you will be redirected to our eNETPAY website. There you will be able to make an eCheck or Credit/Debit Card payment. The fee for online payment is $3.00 per every $100 charge. This fee is between the customer and the eNETPAY company and is not being paid to the City of Wells.
Traffic Fines can now be paid online. Simply select the Pay Your Bill Now button and select traffic fines in the drop-down window. The fee for online payment is $3.00 per every $100 charge. This fee is between the customer and the eNETPAY company and is not being paid to the City of Wells.
