Due to a water main break that could not be repaired without turning off the main water supply, lowering the system's PSI to 0 PSI for the addresses below, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system for the CITY OF WELLS ID# 0370004 to notify customers of the need to boil their water before consumption.
This boil water notice applies to all customers listed below. No one else is affected by the water outage.
3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 34, & 50 May St
49 & 77 Spinks Rd
32, 38 & 73 E First St
To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled before use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil for two minutes. Instead of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source.
When boiling is no longer necessary, the water system officials will notify you that it is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Operator Roy Shanks or City Hall at (936) 867-4615.
If a customer wishes to contact the TCEQ, they may call 512-239-4691.
