Effective 9/30/2022, all of Cherokee County is under a burn ban.
September 1, 2022, the following item will become effective: Water Base Rates will increase by $1.00; the initial rate charged before usage is billed.
The City of Wells will hold a meeting at 7:00 PM on September 19th, 2022, at Council Chambers, 293 Rusk Avenue, Wells, TX, to consider a proposed tax rate for the tax year 2022. The proposed tax rate is 0.48129 per $100 of value. The proposed tax rate would increase total taxes in the City of Wells by 4.04%
It is very important NOT to flush any wipes down the commode into our sewer system. This includes wipes that say they are flushable, baby wipes, and disinfecting wipes. Our system can not process them and it will cause damage to the sewer system. If we lose our sewer system the City of Wells will be utilty system will shut down causing severe problems.
