Utility Rate Increase
At the regular council meeting held on September 13, 2021, the city council increased the utility rates for all customers on the City of Wells Utility Service. The increase is for maintenance and operations expenses. Trash rates were not increased.
Water & Sewer Base Rates will increase by $1.00; the initial rate charged before usage is billed.
Water Base Rate will increase from $22.81 to $23.81
Sewer Base Rate will increase from $21.04 to $22.04
Outside the city limits rates: Water rate + ½: $23.81 + $11.91 = $35.72
Sewer rate + ½: $22.04 + $11.02 = $33.06
Commercial property will be raised based on meter size. Please contact city hall for rates.
All usage after the base rate will stay the same:
1 – 2,000 gallons $3.00 per thousand gallons
2,001 – 6,000 gallons $3.25 per thousand gallons
6,001 – 10,000 gallons $3.50 per thousand gallons
10,001 – 50,000 gallons $4.25 per thousand gallons
all over 50,000 gallons $4.50 per thousand gallons
